'Kofi Adams' visit to Adom Kyei-Duah triggered Ghana's World Cup knock out' — St. Sark

The General Overseer of Open Arms Ministry, St. Sark, has launched a blistering attack on Sports Minister Kofi Adams, claiming the minister's visit to the church of Adom Kyei-Duah before Ghana's World Cup campaign invited trouble for the nation.

Speaking at a charged press conference held at the church's auditorium on Thursday, St. Sark said he openly questioned the minister's decision at the time, insisting there was no justification for seeking spiritual intervention over football.

"I asked why Kofi Adams went there and for what. Is he a prophet or clergy? I told them he is not a prophet, and Kofi Adams going there was going to bring problems for the country and you saw what happened," the outspoken preacher declared.

St. Sark did not stop there. He turned his guns on prophets who publicly predicted World Cup results, describing their pronouncements as false and damaging to the image of Christianity.

According to him, he had repeatedly warned before the tournament, including during an interview on Boss FM, that God has no interest in football and does not reveal match outcomes to prophets.

"I said before the World Cup that God is not concerned about football.

"The Church is not concerned about football. Nobody should attack pastors because of football.

"Those who predicted football results were lying because God has nothing to do with football," he said.

He argued that the collapse of the widely publicized football prophecies should serve as a wake-up call to both the Church and the public.

"If you are a prophet, football is not your assignment," he stressed. "What happened has only brought shame to the Church."

St. Sark further claimed that football has drifted away from godly values because of its close association with gambling, insisting that genuine men of God should stay away from predicting scorelines and tournament outcomes.

He also challenged the media to stop providing platforms for prophets who claim to receive divine revelations about football matches.

"No true prophet of God will come out to predict football scorelines. The media must stop entertaining these so-called prophecies because God has nothing to do with football," he stated.

His remarks come in the wake of widespread criticism of failed football prophecies during the World Cup, a development that has reignited debate over the role of religious leaders in predicting sporting events.
