My mission is to ensure Bawumia becomes President in 2029 when I become Ashanti NPP Chair — COKA

Aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has said his decision to contest the party's regional chairmanship is motivated by his desire to help Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia become President in 2029.

Speaking to party delegates on the fourth day of his campaign tour of the Ejisu Constituency, COKA stressed the need to strengthen the NPP's structures in the Ashanti Region to position the party for victory in the next general election.

“My mission is to ensure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes President in 2029,” he told the delegates.

He explained that if elected Ashanti Regional Chairman, his priority would be to build a more united and vibrant party by strengthening grassroots structures, fostering cohesion among members and intensifying mobilisation efforts ahead of the national polls.

COKA also appealed to delegates in the Ejisu Constituency to support his bid in the Ashanti Regional Executive Elections scheduled for August 15, 2026, reminding them that his name appears as number one on the ballot paper.

The Ashanti Region remains the electoral stronghold of the NPP and is widely expected to play a decisive role in the party's quest to recapture power in the 2028 general election, with the winner of that election to be sworn into office in January 2029.
