Court halts Apostle Kwadwo Safo's funeral with 10-day injunction against Adwoa Safo

An Accra High Court has issued a 10-day interim injunction restraining former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, from proceeding with the funeral and burial arrangements of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

The order was granted following an application filed by the Kristo Asafo Mission in connection with matters relating to the estate of the late founder and industrialist.

Counsel for the Kristo Asafo Mission, Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka, said the court's decision temporarily bars Adwoa Safo from organising the funeral until the legal issues before the court are determined.

According to him, the injunction forms part of an ongoing dispute over the administration of Apostle Kwadwo Safo's estate and the authority to carry out his final wishes.

The disagreement stems from divisions within the Safo family regarding who has the legal mandate to oversee the funeral arrangements and implement the deceased's directives.

As a result of the court order, the funeral, which had been scheduled to take place on July 30 and 31, 2026, has been put on hold pending further proceedings.

Despite the legal action, Adwoa Safo, speaking on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, July 28, maintained that the funeral would go ahead as planned. She also appealed to her brother, Kwadwo Safo Akofena, not to interfere with the arrangements.
