A number of Ghanaian celebrities and public figures on Saturday, 11th July 2026, joined forces to support the Clean Ghana Agenda, demonstrating their commitment to environmental cleanliness and encouraging citizens to take collective responsibility for keeping the country clean.
The clean-up exercise brought together renowned personalities including Selassie Ibrahim, Irene Opare, Gloria Sarfo, Kafui Danku, Christiana Awuni, Joseph Ofei, and several others. Also present was actress, filmmaker, and public servant Dzifa Agbetepey, who participated to reinforce the importance of environmental sanitation.
The exercise began at Agbogbloshie in Accra, moved through Kwame Nkrumah Circle, and ended at Alajo. Participants swept streets, cleared litter, and engaged members of the public on the need to maintain clean surroundings.
The initiative underscored the importance of collective action, stressing that environmental cleanliness is a shared responsibility—not the exclusive duty of government agencies or sanitation workers. Leveraging their platforms and influence, the celebrities urged Ghanaians to adopt better sanitation habits and protect their communities.
Speaking after the exercise, Dzifa Agbetepey noted that a clean environment contributes to healthier communities and reflects national pride. She encouraged every Ghanaian to play an active role by disposing of waste responsibly and participating in community clean-up activities whenever possible.
The Clean Ghana Agenda, part of President John Dramani Mahama’s two-day National Sanitation Day exercise, continues to rally individuals, communities, corporate institutions, and public figures to work together toward cleaner cities, healthier communities, and a more sustainable future for Ghana.
