An aspiring Constituency Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tamale Central Constituency, Mr. Abdul Jalil, has pledged to establish a contingency fund to support party activities and provide emergency financial assistance if elected.
Mr. Jalil revealed that he will personally inject GH¢5,000 as seed capital to kick-start the fund, describing the initiative as a practical and proactive approach to strengthening the party’s financial readiness and ensuring swift responses to urgent constituency needs.
He made the commitment during an interview on the Northstar FM Super Morning Show, hosted by Chief Nurudeen and monitored by ModernGhana.
According to him, the contingency fund will serve as a financial buffer to support constituency programmes, administrative work, and unforeseen emergencies that may arise in the course of party operations.
He emphasized that effective financial management, transparency, and prudent planning are crucial to building a stronger and more resilient party structure at the constituency level. His vision, he noted, is to promote accountability and sustainable resource mobilization if entrusted with the office of Constituency Treasurer.
Mr. Jalil appealed to delegates to support his bid, assuring them of his commitment to serve with integrity, dedication, and openness. He stressed that the proposed fund would be managed responsibly for the collective benefit of the Tamale Central NPP.
He added that his campaign is anchored on innovative financial management and creating a solid financial foundation that positions the constituency to effectively execute its programmes and support members whenever the need arises.
