The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for the Amenfi East Constituency, Nana Kofi Atokyi, has expressed his readiness to dismantle the political presence and influence of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area when he regains his chairmanship position in the NDC’s upcoming constituency elections.
According to him, his vision to make the NDC highly attractive through unprecedented development and infrastructure makes it inevitable that the NPP will lose its footing entirely in the constituency.
In an interview with this Correspondent, the Chairman highlighted his major developmental achievements, noting that the welfare and progress of Amenfi East have always been his utmost priority.
To back his vision with action, the Chairman pointed to the near completion of a state‑of‑the‑art constituency party office complex, a project he promised during his previous campaign.
The ultra‑modern facility is uniquely designed to include comfortable residential apartments and offices for the Member of Parliament (MP), the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), and other constituency executives.
“When I was contesting, I made a solemn pledge to build an ultra‑modern party office with comfortable apartments to facilitate the work of our executives, MP, and future MCE. Today, that project is on the verge of completion, standing as a testament to my commitment to this party,” he said.
Announcing his bid to retain his position in the upcoming constituency executives’ election, the Chairman urged delegates to judge him by his tangible achievements and grant him another mandate to finish what he started.
“There is so much more I have in store for this constituency. By equipping our party with the right structures and making it the most attractive political force in the region, the NPP will have no space left to operate here.”
The Chairman’s remarks have been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from local constituents and party members, who spoke highly of his transformational leadership.
