President John Dramani Mahama has rounded off the Central Region leg of the nationwide #ResettingGhana Tour with a vibrant Citizens’ Engagement Town Hall in Apam, where he interacted directly with residents, outlined key achievements, and reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating development across the region.
Joined by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku‑Agyemang, President Mahama used the forum to account for progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, governance and economic transformation, while presenting plans to attract investment, expand job opportunities and improve livelihoods.
The interactive session allowed residents to raise concerns on road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, employment, education and local economic development. President Mahama assured participants that their inputs would continue to shape government policies and guide development priorities.
The Apam town hall capped a multi‑stop regional tour during which the President commissioned and inspected several projects. A major highlight was the sod‑cutting for the Assin Bereku 24‑Hour Economy Market, a flagship initiative expected to boost commerce, support local businesses and create sustainable jobs.
President Mahama also inspected ongoing road works aimed at improving connectivity, inaugurated a Community‑based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to strengthen primary healthcare access, and distributed Free Primary Healthcare kits to enhance community‑level service delivery.
Promoting Ghana’s tourism potential, the President visited Cape Coast Castle, reiterating his administration’s commitment to preserving the nation’s historical heritage and leveraging tourism as a driver of economic growth.
Addressing residents in Apam, President Mahama said the #ResettingGhana Tour underscores his government’s commitment to accountability, transparency and citizen participation. He emphasized that direct engagement with communities enables government to better understand local needs and implement policies that deliver meaningful improvements in people’s lives.
He reaffirmed his determination to continue investing in critical infrastructure, expand access to quality healthcare and education, and roll out the 24‑Hour Economy policy to stimulate industrial growth, increase productivity and create long‑term employment opportunities nationwide.
The Central Region tour forms part of President Mahama’s broader nationwide engagements aimed at updating citizens on government programmes and fostering dialogue on Ghana’s development agenda.
