President John Dramani Mahama has cut sod for the construction of a new 24‑Hour Economy Market at Assin Bereku, marking a major push to expand economic activity and improve livelihoods in the Central Region as part of the nationwide #ResettingGhana Tour.
Joined by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku‑Agyemang, President Mahama engaged residents across several communities, outlining progress made in infrastructure, healthcare, education, governance and economic transformation, while detailing plans to accelerate development in the region.
At Assin Bereku, the President described the 24‑Hour Economy Market as a strategic investment designed to create jobs, support local enterprises and stimulate round‑the‑clock commercial activity under the government’s flagship economic agenda.
During the tour, President Mahama inspected ongoing road construction projects aimed at improving regional connectivity and facilitating trade. He also inaugurated a new Community‑based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound, reinforcing efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery. In addition, he presented Free Primary Healthcare kits to enhance quality healthcare services at the community level.
Promoting Ghana’s tourism potential, President Mahama visited Cape Coast Castle, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to preserving the country’s historical heritage and leveraging tourism as a catalyst for economic growth.
The Central Region leg of the #ResettingGhana Tour concluded with a Citizens’ Engagement Town Hall in Apam, where the President accounted for his administration’s achievements and outlined plans to attract investment, create sustainable jobs and improve living standards.
The interactive forum offered residents a direct platform to share concerns, ask questions and express aspirations for the continued development of their communities.
President Mahama emphasized that the #ResettingGhana Tour remains a vital mechanism for strengthening government‑citizen relations and ensuring that national development priorities reflect the needs and expectations of Ghanaians across the country.
