The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested three suspects following an overnight intelligence-led operation targeting a suspected cannabis cultivation, processing, and distribution hub in the Volta Region.
According to NACOC, the operation was carried out by its tactical team after receiving credible intelligence about illegal drug activities in the communities of Koleonu, Wegbe, and Akplamafu. The raid focused on a stash house believed to be a major centre for the cultivation of cannabis, the production of hashish oil, and the distribution of narcotic substances.
The carefully coordinated all-night operation resulted in the arrest of three principal suspects who are currently in custody assisting investigators with ongoing inquiries. Authorities say the suspects are expected to help identify other collaborators and uncover supply routes linked to the illicit drug network.
NACOC described the raid as a significant breakthrough in its efforts to dismantle drug trafficking syndicates operating across the country. The Commission noted that the discovery of hashish oil points to a more sophisticated operation than ordinary cannabis cultivation and storage, indicating an organized processing network.
