President Mahama must sell the abandoned Sewua Military Hospital for a symbolic One Cedi

Feature Article President Mahama must sell the abandoned Sewua Military Hospital for a symbolic One Cedi

The writer, a native of Kumawu/Asiampa but residing in the United Kingdom is weeping for his beloved country Ghana. Contrary, it should have been to him, “weep not, my beloved son”.

Why this abandonment of the inaugurated or commissioned Sewua Military Hospital in the Ashanti region by President John Dramani Mahama and his NDC-led government? What could be their reason for abandoning a commissioned newly built hospital of the size of a normal village in Ghana to ruin?

For how long should the writer weep for Ghana because of the ignorance, shortsightedness, incompetence and overly infatuation of corruption of the leaders?

Seeing videos on how the minority NPP members of parliament and press men were forcefully prevented from stepping foot on the hospital ground for a check tour, the writer’s heart bleeds.

If the leaders and politicians of Ghana are that heartless and myopic, leaving taxpayers funded uncompleted projects to rot because they were started by their rival previous governments, then in the case of the Sewu Military Hospital, the writer suggests it is sold to an interested person for a symbolic Ghc1.00.

The writer will appeal to the international community based Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), philanthropists and foreign Ghanaian communities to help put the hospital into operation should it be sold to him or whoever, for a symbolic one Cedi, a proof of how misfit most of the country’s leaders and politicians are.

Is there the need for presidents and governments to abandon uncompleted public projects because they were started by their rival previous governments?

The writer challenges President John Mahama to prove him wrong that he does not care about a section of Ghanaians.

Why do NDC governments often see the Ashanti region as the enemy “enclave” that must be treated differently less favourably?

To leave the hospital to rot, becoming a possible breeding ground for snakes, wild animals, marijuana-smoking gangsters and armed robbers, the writer suggests to President Mahama to sell the hospital for a symbolic one Cedi to an interested individual who will arrange for help to put the hospital into operation.

President Mahama and the NDC-led government, what is your response to this request and suggestion by the caring writer, the fearless and no-nonsense son of Kumawu/Asiampa soil? He has had enough of the ruinous practice of sectionalism, tribalism, nepotism and cronyism by the presidents and governments of Ghana, especially the NDC.
