Christian Service University (CSU) in Kumasi has launched a new Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) programme designed to shape ethical leaders and contribute to the national fight against corruption.
Speaking at the launch, the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Samuel Brefo Adubofour, said the programme is rooted in the belief that corruption cannot be defeated by force alone but through mindset transformation, moral formation, and value‑driven leadership.
He noted that while corruption is often associated with politicians, the problem cuts across all sectors — including religious institutions, education, healthcare, and public administration. He described corruption as the abuse of power for personal gain at the expense of those one is meant to serve.
Dr. Adubofour added that practices commonly labelled as “grace,” “luck,” or “favour” may, in reality, reflect unethical advantages that undermine fairness and accountability. He stressed the need for society to confront these uncomfortable truths.
He explained that the D.Min. programme is not limited to pastors or church leaders, but open to anyone seeking deeper knowledge of the Church and a desire to drive positive change in their communities.
The programme aims to transform the thinking and attitudes of participants, equipping them with strong values and leadership principles to help curb societal challenges such as corruption, abuse of office, and financial misconduct.
A unique feature of the programme, Dr. Adubofour revealed, is that students will not sit for traditional examinations. Instead, assessment will be based on rigorous research, academic projects, and thesis work that strengthen both intellectual and spiritual development.
Chancellor of the University, Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante, reaffirmed CSU’s commitment to guiding individuals who seek a deeper understanding of the Church and wish to apply biblical principles in practical, socially impactful ways.
