Renowned road contractor Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job and his wife, Dr. Esther Okyere Gyebi, have been honoured by the Kumasi South Hospital at Atonsu Agogo for donating over GH₵250,000 to save childhood cancer patients.

The hospital presented a citation to the couple on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in recognition of their life-saving support.

The children, who suffered from kidney cancer and retinoblastoma, an eye cancer, were on the brink of death before the intervention.

Through the Kofi Job Foundation, the philanthropic couple covered the full cost of treatment, enabling the children to receive top-notch medical care.

Presenting the citation, Deputy Chief Nursing Officer Mrs. Mercy Adu Forkuo said the support ensured the patients received maximum treatment.

"On behalf of the hospital, we say thank you to Mr Kofi Gyebi Job and wife Dr Esther Okyere Gyebi and the Kofi Job Foundation," she said.

Receiving the citation on behalf of the couple, Public Relations Officer for the Kofi Job Foundation, Kwame Agyenim Boateng, expressed joy at the impact made.

He pledged the foundation’s continued support to uplift the needy in society.

Oncologist Pediatrician Dr. Alimatu, who managed the treatment, confirmed the children are now free from the deadly cancers.

"Thanks to the Kofi Job Foundation, the children are now free from their cancers," she said. She added that the facility will always be grateful to the foundation for the huge support.

Families of the children said they had given up after learning of their children’s condition and the cost involved, until Mr. and Dr. Gyebi intervened.

They noted the couple lifted a huge burden by paying the full amount needed for treatment, and commended the foundation for saving their children.
