The National Chairman of the Friends of Bawumia 2008 Foundation (FoB’08), Charles Owusu Juanah, together with the Chief Operating Officer, Barbara Makara, has led the successful completion of the first phase of a nationwide tour aimed at reinforcing the organisation’s structures and deepening grassroots engagement.
The tour covered the Central, Western, Western North, Ahafo, Bono, Bono East and Ashanti regions, bringing together regional executives, grassroots members, stakeholders and the media. It focused on promoting unity, discipline and a more structured approach to political mobilisation.
Throughout the engagements, the leadership worked to reorganise regional structures, strengthen grassroots mobilisation, encourage inclusiveness and reinforce the group’s support for the New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The interactions were marked by active participation, candid feedback and renewed commitment from members across the regions visited.
Charles Owusu Juanah provided strategic direction during the tour, driving efforts to restructure the organisation for greater efficiency and functionality at all levels. He also championed unity and reconciliation, bringing together members across different political leanings, while outlining a clear roadmap toward the 2028 elections.
He further emphasised discipline, accountability and performance-driven leadership, while promoting stronger stakeholder engagement, including media relations and high-level consultations. As part of efforts to ensure sustainability, he introduced the Patron Support System as a model for resource mobilisation and highlighted the importance of grassroots participation at the electoral area level.
On her part, Barbara Makara played a key role in advancing operational priorities, including the development of a credible and centralised membership database, fostering inclusive leadership and encouraging sustained commitment among members despite the voluntary nature of the organisation.
Key issues that emerged from the tour included the need for stronger organisational structures, improved coordination between national and grassroots levels, enhanced communication, and increased focus on youth inclusion and leadership development.
The leadership reiterated that unity, discipline and strategic organisation remain critical to electoral success, stressing that victory in 2028 will depend on collective effort and well-coordinated mobilisation.
The first phase of the tour has reenergised the organisation’s base in the regions visited and aligned members behind a shared vision of building a strong, inclusive and results-oriented political support movement.
