The Alagumgube Association USA is gearing up to celebrate its second anniversary in New Jersey on 21st and 22nd August 2026, with a vibrant programme that brings together community leaders, performing artists, and bold development initiatives for the Frafra‑speaking diaspora and their communities back home.
Established to unite people from Bolgatanga, Bongo, Nangodi, Tongo, and Nikaare living abroad—while preserving culture and supporting development—the association has quickly grown into a dynamic platform for cultural pride, unity, and social impact.
This year’s anniversary celebration will feature a distinguished lineup of special guests, including traditional leaders from the BONABOTO and Nikaare areas, as well as performances by Rev. Nat Awuni, Rita Akulime, founder Gabriel Agambila, Ayuune Sule Abola, and others. Attendees can expect an engaging blend of culture, tourism, music, and community spirit.
Beyond entertainment, organisers will present the association’s strategic vision for its next phase of growth.
Key initiatives to be unveiled include plans to establish a community radio station to amplify diaspora voices and promote Frafra culture globally, as well as the acquisition of a bus to support member transportation and grassroots activities in Ghana.
These projects reflect Alagumgube’s broader mission “to preserve heritage, empower communities, and build the future”—a mission already demonstrated through charitable donations to regional hospitals and prisons, and advocacy for major development efforts such as the Upper East Regional Airport.
Leadership notes that the second anniversary celebration will not only honour past achievements but also mobilise members around ambitious new goals designed to strengthen cultural ties, enhance communication, and expand the association’s impact both in the diaspora and at home.
