Dekaworwor Association of Maryland celebrates end of year get together

Dekaworwor Association of Maryland celebrated their end-of-year gathering on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the luxurious Belcamp Community Center. The event was graced by the presence of sister Ewe associations from Washington, DC, and Norvinyo Habobor from Philadelphia.

Pastor Eric Atuobi opened the celebration with a prayer, invoking peace and unity among all nations. He prayed for strength and guidance for the leaders and entrusted the success of the event to the hands of the Lord.

The Secretary of the Council of Ewe Associations of North America, Mr. Patrick Adzadu, introduced various leaders in attendance and conveyed a goodwill message from Mr. William Kumah, the President of CEANA. In addition, the Second Vice President of the Council invited members of Dekaworwor to the CEANA 2026 event, scheduled for September 3 to September 7, 2026, at Washington DC. Members of Ghana Unity Association were also present and were duly recognized.

In her annual address, Dr. Fafa Dormekpor Agboh, President of Dekaworwor, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the members and leadership throughout the year. She emphasized the need to view the association as more than just a social group, calling for a shift in mentality to foster a stronger association that supports business and other beneficial ventures.

The current executive members of the Dekaworwor Association are as follows: President, Dr. Fafa Dormekpor Agboh; Interim Vice President, Enoch Adofo; Secretary, Akushika Amenudzi; Assistant Secretary, Sena Amegbor; Treasurer, Jerry Ekuadzi; Financial Secretary, Cherietta Tamakloe; Organizing Secretary, Caroline Adarkwa; Assistant Organizing Secretaries, Martin Wenya and Rosemond Serwaah Kyeremeh; Father of the Association, David Amenyah; and Mother of the Association, Ruby Amegbor.

Music for the event was provided by DJ Slim, and the proceedings were skillfully emceed by a young but experienced host, mc Herb.
