The Ghana Small Scale Oil Palm Producers Association (GOPPA) has called for an all-hands-on-deck approach to promote local food production to ensure food security for all Ghanaians.

This is contained in a statement issued on Friday, December 5, to mark the 41st National Farmers Day Celebration in the country.

In the statement, GOPPA applauded all farmers in the country for their efforts and pledged support to small-scale oil palm producers.

“The Ghana Small Scale Oil Palm Producers Association (GOPPA) joins the nation in celebrating Farmers' Day 2025, themed "Eat Ghana, Grow Ghana, Secure the Future". We salute the dedication and hard work of Ghanaian farmers, who are the backbone of our agricultural sector.

“As we celebrate, GOPPA reaffirms its commitment to supporting small-scale oil palm producers and promoting agricultural development in Ghana,” GOPPA said in its statement.

The statement added, “Together, let's promote local food production, drive economic growth, and ensure food security for all Ghanaians. Happy Farmers' Day.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has stressed the importance of empowering farmers to take leadership roles across the entire agricultural value chain.

Speaking at the 41st National Farmers Day celebration in Ho, the Minister said farmers must not remain passive contributors but should be positioned at the forefront of innovation, value chain expansion, and national food security strategies.
