
The Member of Parliament for Agotime-Ziope, Hon. Charles Agbeve, has reaffirmed his commitment to the district’s agricultural sector by donating a total of fifteen thousand Ghana cedis (GHS 15,000) to support the upcoming District Farmers’ Day celebration.
The contribution includes ten thousand Ghana cedis (GHS 10,000) to aid in organizing the event, scheduled for Thursday, 27th November, and five thousand Ghana cedis (GHS 5,000) for the purchase of a double-decker refrigerator as a special award for the District Best Disabled Farmer.
Hon. Agbeve extended his congratulations to the hardworking farmers in the district, acknowledging their dedication and significant contributions to the development of Agotime-Ziope and the nation as a whole.
The District Farmers’ Day celebration, set to take place at Ziope Keyime D/A Basic School Park from 9:00 am, honors the district’s diligent farmers and highlights the critical role they play in sustaining the local economy. Hon. Agbeve’s donation is expected to enhance the success of the event and motivate farmers to continue excelling in their work.
Meanwhile, the Volta regional capital, Ho, will host the 2025 National Farmers Day celebration, as announced by Mr. Eric Opoku, Minister of Food and Agriculture. Scheduled for December 5, 2025, the national event will recognize and award churches involved in agriculture, aiming to inspire broader participation and support for the sector.
The annual National Farmers Day serves as a platform to promote agricultural development, encourage local food production, and address food insecurity in the country. Ho, as the host city, will showcase agricultural produce and innovations while providing stakeholders an opportunity to discuss strategies to strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector and secure the nation’s food future.
