The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Ebenezer Appiah Apraku, has declared his support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the party’s upcoming flagbearer race.
He said Dr. Bawumia has served the party extensively and deserves the mandate to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.
According to him, the former Vice President has demonstrated dedication and competence over the years.
Speaking during Dr. Bawumia’s flagbearer campaign tour of the constituency on Thursday, November 20, the Chairman said the former Vice President would make a very good President and described him as one of a kind.
He urged delegates in the constituency to rally behind Dr. Bawumia in the election slated for January 31, 2026.
“Dr. Bawumia has served the party for a long time. We all saw how he performed in 2012. I am the Constituency Chairman in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa. I declare my support for Dr. Bawumia and call on all of you to support him because we believe he will not abandon us when he wins the presidency. Dr. Bawumia will be a very good President. He will be one of a kind—knowledgeable and competent among his peers.
“I plead with you: this is a time to move forward and not go backwards, and if we want to move forward, we don’t need to change Dr. Bawumia for another person. He always says that he doesn’t have money, but he has rich ideas. I know that the rich ideas will bring us money,” Mr. Appiah Apraku said.

The time is up for Convention People's Party (CPP) to return to governance of Ghana .The Danquah, Busia Dombo tradition or the NPP must be advised to pack up into a corner and allow Nkrumahists to come in to serve Ghana much better than NPP did in 20.5 years. Nkrumah and the CPP spent only 9 years and Ghanaians remember that. Nkrumah Never Dies, Bom or No Bomb.
