The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has appealed to contractors working on government projects to maintain the highest standards of quality.
He delivered this message during a two-day inspection tour of major infrastructure works across the region, stressing that excellence in execution is essential to the success of national development efforts.
His tour covered several significant road and housing projects, including the 53.35 kilometre Have to Hohoe Road, the 45 kilometre Asikuma to Have Road, and the 67 kilometre Asutsuare Junction to Volivo to Dorfor Adidome to Asikuma Junction Road.
Hon. Gunu underscored the importance of these projects to the region’s growth, noting that improved connectivity will strengthen economic activity, enhance mobility, and improve the daily lives of residents.
He expressed appreciation for the work done so far by contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders, but reminded them that quality must never be compromised. According to him, the region needs durable and well-executed infrastructure capable of supporting long-term socio-economic transformation.
Hon. Gunu also inspected early works on the construction of one thousand housing units by the Tema Development Corporation at Ho. He encouraged contractors to engage local artisans and young people in the execution of the project, emphasising the value of community participation and local employment.
The minister reaffirmed that ensuring quality infrastructure is central to the government’s vision of delivering projects that stand the test of time. He added that upholding high standards will strengthen public confidence in government initiatives and contribute meaningfully to the development of the Volta Region.
