Sokode motor riders get branded vests to boost safety and order

The Assembly Member for the Sokode Gbogame electoral area in the Ho Municipality, Hon. Mac-Billions Bansah, in collaboration with the Sokode Motor Riders Association (SOMORA), has launched a branding initiative aimed at enhancing safety, security, and discipline among motor riders in the community.

Under the program, all registered riders will receive reflective vests featuring the association’s name, making them easily identifiable on the roads. The initiative is expected to improve visibility, particularly at night, and strengthen community policing efforts by helping authorities distinguish between registered riders and those operating illegally.

Speaking on the initiative, SOMORA leadership expressed their commitment to supporting the Assembly Member’s goals. During discussions with the Motor Riders Association, concerns about the high transport fares in the area were raised. In response, the association agreed to review its pricing structure and submit a more affordable fare schedule to Hon. Bansah’s office, which will then be communicated to the public. This move aims to ease the transport burden on residents while promoting a fairer and more transparent system.

Hon. Mac-Billions Bansah emphasized that the initiative is part of broader efforts to ensure transportation services in Sokode are safe, well-regulated, and community-friendly. “We are committed to supporting riders in operating professionally and sustainably while ensuring the safety of residents,” his office stated.
