Okudzeto Ablakwa Commissions Maternal and Child Health Clinic in Juapong

Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has commissioned a new Maternal and Child Health Clinic in Juapong to improve healthcare delivery in the constituency.

The project, undertaken in partnership with the Africa Now Foundation, was completed within six months and was fully equipped to begin operations.

According to the MP, the facility has the capacity to handle 3,000 safe deliveries annually and is expected to significantly improve maternal and child health outcomes in the area.

Hon. Ablakwa who also doubles as the Foreign Affairs Minister personally donated all the medical equipment needed to make the clinic functional from its inception. He emphasised that the initiative forms part of his commitment to prioritising the health and well-being of constituents, particularly mothers and children.

During the commissioning, the MP also announced a series of other development projects that have been approved for North Tongu. These include the construction of the Aveyime-Asutsuare Road, the Juapong-Podoe-Abutia Road, and the Sege-Battor-Mepe Road. In addition, he revealed plans for the construction of the Volivo to Dorfor Adidome Bridge over the Volta River.

In the education sector, Hon. Ablakwa disclosed that new dormitories, dining halls, and laboratories would be built in all five Senior High Schools in the constituency, alongside the construction of a teachers’ bungalow to improve staff accommodation.

He further indicated that his office has made arrangements to cover the cost of checking Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results for all candidates in North Tongu, ensuring parents and students do not bear the cost.

Hon. Ablakwa reiterated his commitment to delivering more projects despite his demanding national and international duties. “My beloved North Tongu shall receive its fair share of development under President Mahama’s Reset Agenda,” he stated.

The newly commissioned health facility is expected to serve as a major boost to healthcare delivery in Juapong and surrounding communities.
