Mr. Anthony Ziniel has earned a unanimous endorsement from all 36 Assembly Members of the Nandom Municipal Assembly, securing his appointment as the municipality’s 4th Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) since the district’s establishment in 2012.

The confirmation vote, held at the Nandom Municipal Assembly Hall on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, was met with cheers and widespread approval from both the public and political stakeholders, marking a significant milestone in the municipality’s leadership history.

The overwhelming endorsement reflects the Assembly’s confidence in Mr. Ziniel’s leadership capabilities, wealth of experience, and dedication to advancing local development.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Ziniel conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the President of the Republic for the nomination and to the Assembly Members for their emphatic support.

“This endorsement is not just a vote of confidence in me, but a call to serve with integrity, vision, and a relentless commitment to the development of our beloved Nandom Municipality,” he stated.

Mr. Ziniel brings to the role extensive expertise in governance, administration, and political organisation.

He holds an LLB degree, an Executive MBA in Project Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education Psychology. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has contributed across sectors such as education, logistics, procurement, and international development.

Before his confirmation, Mr. Ziniel served as the Senior Procurement and Logistics Officer for Creative Associates International under the USAID Littoral Regional Initiative Program, managing multi-million-dollar projects in Ghana, Togo, and Benin. He also played key role in political mobilisation and party organisation within the NDC, significantly contributing to successive campaign victories in the constituency.

His leadership is anticipated to drive renewed efforts in infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance within Nandom Municipality.

The news of his appointment has been warmly received by community members and traditional leaders, who are hopeful that his administration will address long-standing development challenges and promote greater unity.

Mr. Ziniel has pledged to continue building a resilient and progressive Nandom Municipality.

The official swearing-in ceremony for MMDCEs in the Upper West Region is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 2, 2025, in Wa.
