A computer laboratory for the Huni Valley secondary School has been commissioned at the cost of GH 12,000 an equivalent of 120 million cedis.
The centre is equipped with 28 computers and accessories and it is also fully networked.
Mr. Thomas K. Tandoh, headmaster of the school said the management of Goldfields Ghana Limited (GGL) supported the school with 10 computers and accessories, while a Bibiani based computer firm, Powersoft computer systems installed the equipments for the school.
Mr. Tandoh said the computerization of the school was in conformity with the new educational reforms, which are likely to begin in September this year.
He said the school was in need of additional accommodation for its teachers to enable the school to attract more teachers.
Mr. Tandoh said the school, which was supposed to have at least 45 teachers presently has only 32 and this makes teaching extremely difficult for them.
He said the access roads to the school, headmaster's bungalow, administration and classrooms are in deplorable state and anytime it rains, movement on the school campus becomes difficult.
