Aspirants vying for the New Patriotic Party's flagbearship in 2008 have been advised to throw their weight behind Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama to ensure electoral victory.
Speaking to the GNA, a retired educationist and a sympathizer of the NPP, Mr. Matthew Duako-Nsowaah, noted that the Vice President had served the country for the past eight years and had gained a lot of experience in good governance.
Mr. Duako-Nsowaah expressed concern about the number of people who had decided to contest the position of the party.
He urged the leadership of the NPP to map out the necessary strategies towards the electioneering campaign, in order to woo more people to join the Party to ensure a resounding victory.
"The leaders of the Party should not forget to reach out to the people at their doorsteps to inform them of the good policies of the NPP," he said.
Mr. Duako-Nsowaah called on the Constituency Executives to organise regular meetings with Party members to rekindle their spirit.
He advised the youth to guard against violence during electioneering campaigns.
