About 105,471 common errors were made by headmasters through out the country during the processing of the computerized selection forms for the placement of students in senior secondary schools (SSS) this year as compared to 58,403 the previous year.
John Kofi Amoah, Nkoranza District Education Examination Officer, who made this known at Nkoranza, in the Brong Ahafo Region, expressed regret that in spite of the annual workshops organised for headmasters before the conduct of the basic examination, some of them continued to record numerous mistakes.
He was addressing about 51 headmasters of junior secondary schools in the District at a day's workshop which was aimed at avoiding errors in the processing of the computerized selection and placement system forms.
Mr Amoah urged headmasters to involve parents in the selection of SSS and choice of programmes and caution them against examination malpractices.
Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, District Director of Education, has challenged district education guidance and counselling coordinators to assist final year students at junior secondary schools in the selection of SSS and courses to pursue.
Mr. Agyemang-Badu urged headmasters and teachers to exchange ideas for the steady development of their schools.
He said the Directorate would organize similar workshops for heads of basic schools to sensitise them on the new educational reform programme.
Kwaku Amoah-Tutu, District Assistant Director in charge of School Inspection, called on circuit supervisors to pay regular visits to schools and assist in the processing of the placement system forms.
