Dear Mahama!
I just chanced on a particularly funny video in circulation with a group of people being tagged as members of the so-called ORAL committee.
Fast forward, this so-called ORAL committee was set up by the current NDC administration led by President Mahama as part of the NDC's campaign manifesto.
Indeed, this committee's mandate, according to the NDC, was to gather and collect information from the public on corruption activities and people they claimed had looted the state.
In the first place, this so-called ORAL committee is unconstitutional and doesn't have any prosecutorial powers to effect arrest or even to harass anyone who acquired property lawfully.
But to my surprise, in that video in circulation, it appears this illegal committee is engaged in an act of illegality by storming at people's homes and business places, seizing vehicles, and others.
In that video, some members of the Committee, with the former Auditor General Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelovo and others, stormed someone's business area with the mission of gathering information on the sale of state lands.
I was taken aback by such a move led by Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelovo, who should have known better and act accordingly with the dictates of Ghana's constitution but not to please the President whatsoever.
Are we living in a Banana Republic? Or we are now in a military regime for such harassment and misconduct? And on the issue of state lands and others in the Country, both political Parties are engaged in it.
So it's an unintelligent way for someone or a group of people to assume that only NPP members or officials acquired state lands. It must be made clear that NDC gurus have access to state lands in Tamale, precisely.
Therefore, this so-called ORAL committee should hasten slowly and rethink their modus operadi with the focus on witch-hunting people without basis, simply to score political points.
Back to the video, on that particular business place, they stormed on West Hospital Road, that building, according to available records, was not even acquired during the tenure of the Nana/ Bawumia administration.
It baffles my mind for such a Committee to run up and down aimlessly with the taxpayer's money as if they're clean and simply to catch public attention.
To Mr. Mahama, Ghana is a place where people should be guaranteed their freedom of expression devoid of unnecessary harassment with unconstitutional or illegal committees all to victimized people who earned what's due them through legal means.
Mr President, Some of your past and current ministers and Executives of NDC, occupy and own state lands in Tamale and Accra. One classic example is that, one of your ministers whom Parliament recently approved owned properties in the Country, etc.
Therefore, It's backward thinking for a group of people to waste Taxpayer's money to move from Accra to Tamale on a mission I described as illegal and invading the privacy of people with the so-called ORAL Committee.
In effect, I implore the committee members to ask for the owners of Tohize Hotel land, Kaladan Park, Old Airport lands, lands opposite SSNIT Tower, Russia Bungalows lands and other state lands in Tamale.
These are some critical lands NDC bigwigs own in Tamale, and, strangely, such people are behind the scenes pushing this useless agenda to tarnish the image of other people.
Without mincing words, Ghana is for all and power this transient for NDC current administration to be guided in their day-to-day activities. Ghana, I repeat, is not a jungle for people to use unlawful means to accomplish a so-called campaign promise that they were involved in and will be involved in moving forward.
Clearly, the actions of the ORAL committee defeat the purpose for which they were set up by the President, and it's high time for the President to call them to order and act within the confines of the "illegal committee" of gathering baseless information."
Mr. President, you have a four-year mandate to fulfill your social contract with the Ghanaian people, and this bad precedence you want to set for yourself will be dire going forward with the witch-hunting approach to solving corruption in the Country.
Look within your appointments and appointees who will rather disappoint you with corruption-related activities and not entirely focus on past Government officials. There will be big corruption issues that will shock Ghanaians subsequently with your administration.
It's time for you to act swiftly and call your boys to order who are parading themselves as ORAL committee members with harassment and intimidating tactics, especially with past government officials and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom).
Without any shred of doubt, the past government officials and members shouldn't be your headache, but Ghanaians gave you the mandate to reduce the prices of goods and services you promised them during the campaigns.
In conclusion, Mr. President, this is the time for you to exhibit leadership and call your so-called ORAL committee members to order to prevent any future occurrences of this nature once members of the NPP respond to their illegal activities in equal measure.
