As “The Honorable” Foundation gears up to celebrate its third anniversary this November, its president, Nana Afia Adepa Korangtemaa, the Ankobea Hemaa of Akyem Abomosu, reflects on its remarkable journey of empowering underprivileged youth across Ghana.
In an interview, Nana Adepa highlighted the organization’s dedication to bridging the opportunity gap for young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Over the past three years, the foundation has focused on providing skills training and creating sustainable livelihoods for youth nationwide.
In 2024 alone, “The Honorable” supported 50 individuals through apprenticeship programs in the Northern, Ashanti, Eastern, and Central regions. These beneficiaries were trained in trades such as carpentry and hairdressing, equipping them with practical skills to secure employment and improve their quality of life.
Looking to the future, Nana Adepa outlined the foundation’s ambitious plans for 2025, which include expanding job creation in the carpentry and hairdressing sectors and establishing one of the largest fashion design factories in Ghana. This factory aims to employ hundreds of youth while providing a platform for local designers and artisans to showcase their talents.
“We are committed to helping those who have no one else to turn to,” Nana Adepa said with conviction. “But we cannot achieve this alone. I call on individuals, organizations, and stakeholders to join us in making these dreams a reality.”
She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members and supporters of “The Honorable” for their unwavering dedication and contributions. “It is through your commitment that we’ve come this far. I encourage everyone to continue working together to realize our vision of transforming lives.”
As the third anniversary approaches, “The Honorable” is inviting all well-meaning Ghanaians to support its mission. With collective effort, the foundation hopes to transform more lives and empower communities, building a brighter future for Ghana’s youth.
