Majority Leader in Parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has refuted allegations that President John Dramani Mahama traveled to the United Arab Emirates on a private jet.
These claims were made by Dominic Nitiwul, the former Defence Minister, leading to a discussion about the President's travel arrangements.
Addressing Parliament on Wednesday, Dr. Forson clarified that he accompanied President Mahama on the trip, which was conducted via a commercial Emirates flight.
“I traveled with President Mahama to the UAE, and he did not use a private jet. I was on the flight with him; we were on Emirates,” Dr. Forson stated.
He challenged the former Defence Minister to provide evidence for his accusations.
“Mr. Speaker, the immediate past Defence Minister asserted that the President used a rented private jet, and I urge him to present proof now,” he asserted firmly.
