The Auditor-General has discovered that former Vice Chancellor of Accra Technical University, Prof. Samuel Nii Odai is still in possession of his official vehicles.
In its report for the year ended December 31, 2023, the Auditor-General indicated that during its audit, it noted that Prof. Samuel Nii Odai did not hand over his official Toyota Land Cruiser and Mercedes Benz after the expiry of his contract with the University in July 2023.
The Auditor-General also revealed in its report that the former Vice Chancellor still occupied her official residence at the time of the audit.
“We inspected official vehicles of the University and noted that Prof. Samuel Nii Odai, the former Vice Chancellor, did not hand over his official Toyota Land Cruiser with Registration number GN 515 - 22 and Mercedes Benz with Registration Number GT 3622 - 22 after the expiry of his contract with the University in July 2023.
“We further noted that he was still occupying the official residence of the University as at the time of our audit in March 2024,” the Auditor-General’s report published on its website said.
The Auditor-General in its report directed the Management of Accra Technical University to ensure Prof. Samuel Nii Odai hands over the bungalow and vehicles to the University.
“We recommended to Management to take steps to ensure that Prof. Samuel Nii Odai hands over the bungalow and vehicles to the University,” the Auditor-General’s report said.
