‘With God All Things Are Possible.’ Congratulations to President John Mahama and H.E Naana J. Opoku-Agyeman for making history at the polls and inspiring a generation.
The mess created by President Akufo-Addo may take at least 50years to unwind. Although President Mahama shall be sworn in as a more experienced leader come January 7th, 2025, he inherits a much poorer country than he left in 2017. A country in tatters and a citizenry in bondage. People in despair and in financial/economic slavery. A country which is politically semi-autonomous but far from sovereign; A nation under serious social assault from both external and internal forces strapped with abundant resources who are bent on imposing Cultural Imperialism on our dear country called Ghana.
BLACKMAIL
It is apparent that President Akufo-Addo’s fondness with the country of France, its government and all that is in between goes beyond the fact that he once lived there as a young man.
In fact, many in the intelligence agencies would describe President Akufo-Addo’s relationship with France as either a snake-oil salesman ‘caking-up’ enormously or that of Blackmail. In short, either France is blackmailing Akufo-Addo or President Akufo-Addo is trading Ghana for some generational family benefits, none of which includes so-called democracy. Most folks agree that both President Akufo-Addo who was openly refusing to hand-over power and France may believe more in Kleptocracy than representative democracy.
Interestingly, in a period where many French-speaking African countries whose resources have been siphoned and kept generationally poor by France are fighting to liberate themselves economically, it is rather curious that 3 of the oldest leaders on the continent, are so enamored with jetting to France at the least chance apparently in search of Napoleon’s Booty.
CONCLUSION
This is the real world, and countries need relationships just as all humans need some form of relationships in their life. Relationships which are mutually beneficial or at least not as despicable as that of France and its former colonies.
May the Almighty protect the incoming president and his government from the fowlers’ snare. May Ghana never have a government like the 2nd Term of the Akufo-Addo administration.
GYE NYAME!
