Residents of Kpalisi, a suburb of Sagnarigu Municipal have expressed their gratitude to the management of Stanbic Bank Ghana for providing the community with borehole.
The people expressed their gratitude when the borehole meant to supply the area with clean portable water was handed over to them on Thursday, December 19.
According to the residents, the people of the area, especially the women struggle daily in search of water for household chores.
"We thank Stanbic Bank Ghana very much for support. We used to go for a long distance to search for water. But it won't happen again because of this intervention. It will reduce our burden in the coming days," the beneficiaries said.
Speaking on behalf of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Mubarak Abdulai said this was a Corporate Social Responsibility by the institution, adding that this will attract more support from the bank if the residents handle it well.
"The Operations Department of Stanbic Bank Ghana as part of our CSR decided to choose a project that will make a lasting impact in a community.
"The hand pump borehole has cost Stanbic Bank Ghana a whopping GHS 28,000.00, and will give the people a year-round water supply to reduce hours of searching for surface water," he stated.
