Mohammed Haruna, the Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asunafo North Constituency of the Ahafo Region captured the seat for the party in the parliamentary elections.
He secured 34,083 votes to beat Mr Evans Opoku Bobie, the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP), and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports who obtained 25,101 votes.
There were 465 rejected ballots out of the 59,183 valid votes cast in the parliamentary elections.
