The opposition National Democratic Congress has accused the government of closing the borders to prevent Ghanaians living in border towns and neighbouring countries from coming home to vote.
Mr Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communication Officer of the NDC, at a press conference, also accused the government of using massive military deployment across the country to intimidate and interfere with the electoral process.
Ghanaians went to the polls on Saturday, 7 December 2024, to elect a new president and parliament.
Mr Gyamfi also noted that the party discovered some half a million fake ballot papers in Kwadaso, Ashanti Region.
The region is the biggest support base for the New Patriotic Party.
According to Mr Gyamfi, the fake ballot papers discovered in a car were all thumb-printed for New Patriotic Party flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
