The Pan African Business Forum (PABF), a private initiative aimed at accelerating the socio-economic development of Africa, has announced three key appointments to its executive management team.
The appointments were made by the Forum’s Executive Committee during its Annual General Board Meeting held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from August 27 to 29, 2024. These new roles, proposed by PABF Chairman Dr. Ladislas Prosper Agbesi, were unanimously approved by the committee.
One of the appointments is Pierre Marcel Bonnard as Vice President for New Technology. Welcomed to the board with enthusiasm, Mr. Bonnard will report directly to the Board of Executives through the Chairman and other executive members.
Another significant appointment is His Excellency Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, who will serve as Chairman of the Energy and Oil & Gas Infrastructure Committee, a division of the PABF established to support the African Union’s Agenda 2063. The Board expressed its appreciation for his “unconditional contribution to the energy and oil & gas sector within Africa.” Like Mr. Bonnard, he will be accountable to the Board through the Chairman and other executives.
The third appointment is Mr. Abubakar Malami, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who will serve as Chairman of the Judicial Review and Transformation of Africa Committee. This committee also aims to advance the objectives of Agenda 2063. The PABF commended Mr. Malami for his “unwavering contribution to a properly functioning judicial and legal system within Nigeria, the West African sub-region, and Africa as a whole.”
Each of these board positions is set for an initial term of two years, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance, subject to the approval of the Chairman and other executive members of the PABF. All three appointees will be accountable to the Board of Executives through the Chairman.
