Statesman, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has stated that he does not believe there is any third force in the Ghanaian political space.
Speaking on the Starr Chat programme on Starr FM on Thursday, August 29, he described the founder of the All People's Congress Hassan Ayariga as a perpetual presidential candidate, insisting that he is not a serious person to establish himself as a third force.
“Hassan Ayariga is just a perpetual presidential candidate. He is not a serious person,” Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe said.
He continued, “Alan had no business joining the second term of Akufo-Addo. I don’t think Alan is a third force, I don’t see any serious third force in this country.”
For long, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been described as the two dominant parties in Ghanaian politics.
In recent years, there have been calls for a third force to break the duopoly.
Ahead of the 2024 general election, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe believes that there is no third force although the NPP and NDC will face competition from some other parties and independent presidential candidates.
He shares the view that the contest on December 7 would be between the two biggest political parties in the country.
