Agyapadie: My Articles About Akufo Addo Are True To The Best Concerning The Dynasty-Book

Feature Article Agyapadie: My Articles About Akufo Addo Are True To The Best Concerning The Dynasty-Book
SUN, 04 AUG 2024 LISTEN

My writings about the president, Akufo Addo, the ruling party, the NPP, and the former finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, have been completely different from those written by other columnists on the news site "ModernGhana" in the years since I joined the group. While I do write about Ghana's dire circumstances, poor leadership, rampant corruption, and financial mismanagement, others, who regard me as an enemy, publish articles supporting, promoting, and endorsing the president's immoralities.

Before the public learned of Akufo Addo and his family's long-intended plans to seize power and take over the country’s finances through the leak of information about the book "Egyapadie," readers who enjoy Joel Savage's writings can wholeheartedly support me that I have written a lot about the evil schemes of Akufo Addo and Ken Ofori-Atta, which accounts can be traced in the book, even though I have no idea that such a book exists or have been written by the “Akyem Mafia gang.”

Since the people choose the leaders who will represent them, the people hold the authority in democratic countries. Ghanaians, however, must admit that Akufo Addo is a man who has never lived up to his words, even despite his deception of asking for the people's authority so that he might serve them better than any other Ghanaian leader, he disrespects Ghanaians, violates the Constitution, and acts in his self-interest because he intends to control Ghana based on the "Agyapadie book."

Akufo Addo consistently displays arrogance and behaves like a despot. He implemented E-Levy against the will of the people. His desire for appointed police officers and Supreme Court judges to serve him alone rather than the people, and his firing of Charlotte Osei, the former head of the Electoral Commission, and appointing Jean Mensa to rig the 2016 and 2020 elections, are rare political events that don’t go with democracy, thus; this should be alarming to any astute Ghanaian.

The idea for the "Egyapadie," a family or government taking over the country’s finances, and major companies, originated with the Akufo Addo family, namely, Edward Akufo Addo, the president's father, and J.B. Danquah, another relative. The late president Kwame Nkrumah, had great difficulty, during his fight to rule the country in the face of intense hostility and the actions of dishonest enemies and family members of Ghana’s current leader, Akufo Addo, who were interested in their welfare than the state.

I have discussed how Ken Ofori-Atta's appointment as Finance Minister solely encouraged corruption. I emphasized that the nomination of Ofori-Atta, the relative of Akufo Addo, the president, was made specifically to facilitate corruption, as such an appointment is unheard of anywhere in the world. My late father and mother were not exempt from the verbal abuse that many Ghanaians and tribal bigots who disagreed with me sent towards me.

In 2017, shortly after the NPP government took power, the Akufo Addo-Mahamudu Bawumia administration decided to purge the banking industry, a decision by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta. If Ofori-Atta is a qualified banker, he should have known of the repercussions of his actions in a developing nation. In total, eight financial institutions were affected and owners’ licenses revoked, but nobody realized that this would be one of the elements leading to Ghana's economic collapse.

Ghanaians have observed administrations come and go, even though, corruption exists in both industrialized and developing nations, however, they have never seen the type of government currently in office. Widespread corruption, money laundering, selling of government properties, and engaging in financial crimes with Ernest Addison, the governor of the Bank of Ghana, in illegal money printing, led to the loss of over GHC 60 billion, and debt totaling GHC 742 billion with impunity.

"What Justifies Ken Ofori-Atta's Purge Of The Banking Sector, Which Resulted In License Revocation?" This is an article I wrote recently. I emphasized that it's evident that Ken Ofori-Atta purposefully destroyed the affected banking institutions to preserve his monopoly in the banking financial sector if one looks more closely at the reasons behind their liquidation. GH¢21 billion was allegedly invested by the government to destroy the banks, even though those banks required less to survive.

I wasn't surprised when I discovered that the book "Egyapadie" contained information I had written about the former Finance Minister. Many things I've written can also be linked to the goals the book promises to accomplish. I argued that Akufo Addo would have benefited from my advice if I had been his political advisor because, first of all, everything I said about him and the economy has since happened, and, more importantly, I think dishonest individuals and politicians surrounded the president.

According to Akufo Addo, the NDC wrote the "Egapadie" book to damage his reputation. If he is correct, then the NDC is a political party made up of intelligent individuals with a vision able to write a book which events that are currently taking place in Ghana. I urge all Ghanaians to make the right choice and vote on December 7th to remove this awful government from office.

Which political party manifesto inspires hope?
