Akufo Addo is so weak to the mutterings of sweetnothings in his ears by members of his inner sanctum that any genuine words of disapproval coming from the outer circles does not seem to bother him. Not even from the likes of pretty Yvonne Nelson. In fact, any critism of his administration sounds nonsensical in his ears, that, which is not worthy of any notice. And by this, the ridicule, the systematic sellout, and the humiliation of Ghana continue on the world stage, among our peers. ..mansa musa writes ✍
Another day has come for Akufo Addo to blame all misfortunes on everyone and everything else except on himself and his bunch of blundering blunderers. He seems to have no idea of his abject failures, useless in style, and lack of competence in governance. He and his people had used the blame game in every given opportunity to discredit the ndc and John Mahama. He has cynically exploited the covid pandemic to absolve himself of any culpability in the current disjointed governance of the country. Akufo Addo is quick to point the finger of blame to the covid pandemic. That same covid pandemic that did bring so much wealth to his government. Indeed, in the sub-saharan countries of Africa, covid incidentally brought Ghana more money than most on the African continent. But with mystical Akufo Addo, the pandemic made Ghana more broke at the same time. More broke than any other country in the world.
Lest we forget, major scandals of the PDS saga the AMERI, the Agyapa con, Kelni GVG, to name just a few. All these, according to Akufo Addo, the blame master, came about because mahama did one thing or another to necessitate those subsequent futile interventions(AMERI, PDS, Agyapa, and Kelni GVG). Then strangely enough, mahama is being blamed on both sides of the electricity debate, dumsor, and excess power. Akufo Addo and his people are saying that mahama did not solve dumsor, then in the same vein, they say mahama should be blamed for excessive power produced. This logic surely doesn't fit. It does not make sense. Another rotten and misguided concensus from the Akufo Addo camp, the warped and disturbing situation, that of the huge financial irregularities found in the Auditor General's report during Akufo Addo's own term in office which is being somehow justified by npp people. They defend rather shamefully that not being able to get public finance spreadsheet in order is not unique to just this present administration, so to them, no wrong done.
Officially, the Ghana government is broke, but individuals in this government are damn rich. In fact, they are super rich, and not only in local currency. They are dollar rich. Akufo Addo and his people think that to have a huge government and indulgence in opulent behaviour, like the hiring of expensive private jets had nothing to do with the depletion of the national coffers. In fact, some recent statements from the npp group still blame mahama for Ghana's economic crisis. Some absolute ridiculous pronouncements proclaimed that in our local presidential jet, the fitout lacked male grooming facilities therfore the need for the tall, handsome Akufo Addo to spend huge sums of dollars to facilitate his globetrotting venture in highly expensive private jets.
People in the Akufo Addo government are so rich these days that there's no surprise to see them sharing monies and goods for votes when election time comes. Meanwhile
Akufo Addo is attempting to play the Black African card by blaming Ghana's poor credit worthiness on rating agencies, which are controlled by non-Africans using the them against us syndrome He describes ratings agencies as reckless. Reckless for notifying and exposing Akufo Addo's reckless borrowing. How dare they pontificate that Akufo Addo had over borrowed and overspent and ended up not being able to repay back loans. Previously, when ratings agencies' figures favoured him, he kept quiet. Now he is fighting them. What do we call this one. Akufo Addo, though, is very lucky indeed. He never runs out of things to blame for his failures. Akufo Addo has got Ghana, and he has got all of us, including himself in the anus of Father America and therefore happy to sing along and to repeat that deceitful and discredited American war narrative against Russia.
To Americans, it is not enough for any country to stay neutral on the Russia/Ukraine issue. The Americans want countries in every corner of the planet to fall in line and take America's side. But most in Africa have decided resolutely to remain steadfast in their positions as neutrals. Our Akufo Addo, though, with very little choice, has obliged to tow the American line. He recently blamed Ghana's economic woes on Russia. Saying, and I quote, " Our economic difficulties have been exacerbated by
Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine "*. These are the words coming from the president of an African country that was the first recipient of a top-end technology in the sixties(1960s). The Soviet Russia helped Ghana immensely immediately after independence. In hindsight, what can now be described as *needless , many Russian died here in Ghana, helping the new country to stay on its feet.
Soviet Russia was prepared to help the new Ghana to develop not in Bible studies but rather in science and technology. In reference to Soviet Russia, the fact still remains that all African countries apart from Liberia and Ethiopia achieved political emancipation from colonialists, neocolonialists, and from Apartheid. African States owe their political freedom to Soviet Russia. And, after all their help, we, Ghanaians, repaid the Russians with death and humiliations. It is documented(classified top secret) over 600 Russian civilian engineers and technologists were liquidated during and after the 1966 coup that ousted Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah.( Visit Konongo in Ashanti and ask the locals why there a place in their forest called Russia)
Still, somehow, in a regrettable historical turnaround, we have fallen back to our cursed fate, we have decided to remain good subordinates and subservients to America and its siblings in Europe. We have conveniently and rather foolishly forgotten the over four hundred years of humiliations by white Europeans and America and have willingly chosen to stay locked in the colonialists and neocolonialists sphere of interest. This alliance has largely failed to address our side of the bargain, our interest, our development, and our well-being. Still, our leadership postures seem to suggest that our lot is better served by being with the known devil. For this, I want to ask the question, if Nkrumah was wrong, and so we had to get back to being with the West, why are we not better off. It is true that a country like Liberia followed the American ideals and immensed itself in the American way of life, lock step, and swinger for over a hundred years, yet they are not better for it.
Akufo Addo should be told, (albeit will be exercise in futility and will fall on deafness) that he can borrow his way to hell all he wants and repeat the American narrative, word by word on the international scene. He should be told that while some will believe and may applaud him, the rest of the ever-growing decerning world audience have seen and will see him for what he is. He is the one, ready to serve his people on a plate, to America only for selfish ends and nothing else. In the end, he will sadly be remembered in the most unflattering terms. Posterity will cast a very negative shadow on his name, and it will be well-deserved. Thanks for reading.
