You Should Not Eat Bread From Every House

I. SON OF MAN, it shall be well with you and your household. Today, I reveal to you to understand that not every house deserves your bread. In Scripture, “eating bread” is never just about food. It speaks of fellowship, covenant, impartation, and alignment. When you eat at someone’s table, you are entering into agreement with their spirit, their doctrine, and their direction. You are not ordinary consuming the food offered on the table or hand over to you, it’s about entering into covenant with the giver. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:11-14: “Into whatever city or town you enter, inquire who is worthy in it, and stay there till you go out… And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.” Beloved, the message which applies to us is that we should discern before we dine. Not every house is a house of bread. Not every man of God carries God’s portion for your life.

II. DAUGHTER OF ZION, to “eat bread” in the spiritual sense means, receiving teaching. Through eating bread, you are ingesting doctrine, counsel, and belief systems into your innermost spirit. Through eating bread, you also enter into covenant. You form spiritual bonds and alliances. Through food you receive impartation. When you enter into any church or house open yourself to the spirit that operates in that house or church. Do you know the spirit that operates in that Church? Through discernment, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. When you enter into a house or church, you sow your resources, through your time, money, loyalty, and influence. That’s why Proverbs 23:6-7 warns: “Do not eat the bread of a miser… For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” You become what you consistently feed on. A man may have the title, the microphone, the crowd but does he have the Spirit? Remember that in 1 Samuel 16:14: “The Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul.” Saul still looked like a king, still sat on the throne, but the presence was gone. If you keep eating there, you will grow spiritually malnourished.

III. MY DEAR BROTHERS IN THE LORD, let us be watchful, for not every house preaches the sound word of God. 2 Timothy 4:3 reveals that "the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.” Some houses serve sweet bread but no protein. They tickle ears, avoid repentance, and normalize compromise. You cannot build spiritual muscle on empty calories. In 1 Corinthians 5:11: “But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.” The Apostle Paul says even if he calls himself a brother, if his life contradicts the gospel, do not eat at his table. Character matters more than charisma. There is a saying that show me your friends and I will tell your character. The groups you belong to, the people you hang out with, and the houses and places you frequently visit directly and indirectly show who you are. God assigns bread for seasons. The prophet who fed Elijah at the brook was not the same prophet who anointed him king. Staying too long at the wrong table will delay your destiny.

IV. MY BELOVED SISTERS IN THE LORD, there is danger in eating at the wrong table. In 2 John 10-11: “If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.” Beloved, spiritual association is spiritual transmission. You cannot eat with Jezebel and not come out stained. There are some tables from which you eat, and you will lose taste for truth. Your discernment dulls. What once offended you now sounds normal. Your giving, your loyalty, and your labour are seeds. Sowing into a wrong house is like watering concrete. You will labour but without fruit. Beloved, your spiritual appetite is sacred. What you feed on determines what you become. David said, “How sweet are Your words to my taste!” Psalm 119:103. Beloved, the message is not to be critical but to be Christ-centered. You are not called to eat everywhere. You are called to eat where Christ is exalted, where truth is preached, where holiness is pursued, and where your destiny is fed. This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor, Yes! Beloved, lift your eyes. Not every pulpit is a place of provision. Not every handshake is a holy alliance. Not every “man of God” is carrying God’s bread for you.

V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—Do not be moved by titles. Be moved by truth. Do not be driven by popularity. Be driven by the presence. Because when you eat at the right table, you don’t just get full—you get fruitful.

PRAYER: Father, forgive us for filling our lives with so much noise that we missed Your voice. Teach us to be still. Teach us to listen. Speak, Lord, for Your servants are listening. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
