Nigerian actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has accused wealthy men of spending excessively on women, arguing that their lavish gifts and financial support make hardworking men appear unsuccessful.
The actor said rich men have the right to spend their money as they wish, provided their spending is legal.
However, he believes the amount some wealthy Nigerians spend on women creates an unfair impression about other men.
“Every man has a right to spend his money. Every person has a right to spend his money legally on anything,” he said on The Honest Bunch podcast.
Kanayo added that the spending habits of some wealthy men had reached a point where they made other men look as though they were not working hard enough.
“But unfortunately, Nigerian rich men, most of them, spend money on our girls to the extent that it impoverishes us and makes us look like we don’t work hard,” he stated.
