“I don't give a damn about attack on Stonebwoy and his wife; that's retaliation" - Shatta Wale

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has opened up about the ongoing tensions between his fanbase and that of fellow musician Stonebwoy, explaining why he has chosen not to strongly condemn an alleged attack involving Stonebwoy and his wife.

Speaking during an interview on GHOne TV with Serwaa Amihere, Shatta Wale stressed that he does not support fans physically attacking artistes, regardless of their differences.

According to him, he has already asked Webkid to apologise to some individuals he allegedly attacked without provocation, maintaining that such conduct should not be encouraged.

However, Shatta Wale said he does not feel the same way about the reported attack on Stonebwoy and his wife, describing it as retaliation for what he claims he and his family have endured from some of Stonebwoy's supporters.

“I don't condone the act of fans attacking artistes. That's why I don't support what Webkid did. I've asked him to apologise to some of the people he attacked unprovoked,” he said.

Shatta Wale claimed that he and members of his family have repeatedly been subjected to insults and personal attacks on social media by some individuals who identify as Stonebwoy fans.

He alleged that some of these social media users have made offensive remarks about his wife, questioned the paternity of his children and made disparaging comments about his parents.

The outspoken artiste said that despite seeing such posts regularly, he has largely refrained from reporting or arresting the individuals involved because he considers it a waste of time.

“I don't give a damn about the attack on Stonebwoy and his wife. I don't care about them because that's retaliation,” Shatta Wale stated.

He explained that he has sometimes deliberately remained calm because he views the conflict from the perspective of the two fanbases rather than allowing individual incidents to dictate his actions.
