More than two decades after releasing one of Ghana’s most memorable highlife songs, celebrated musician Kofi Nti and his Manager King Pee have revived his timeless classic 'Rakia' with an exciting remix featuring KK Fosu and King Paluta.
The original 'Rakia,' released on July 3, 2004, became an instant sensation, winning the hearts of music lovers across Ghana and beyond.
Produced by legendary hitmaker Appietus and featuring highlife icon Ofori Amponsah, the song earned its place among the defining highlife records of the 2000s. Its infectious melody, relatable lyrics, and outstanding production have ensured its popularity for more than 22 years.
Now, Kofi Nti is preparing to usher the classic into a new era with the release of 'Rakia Remix' today, August 11, 2026.
The remix brings together three generations of Ghanaian music. Veteran singer KK Fosu, known for numerous highlife hits, joins forces with one of Ghana’s hottest contemporary artistes, King Paluta, whose unique blend of rap and melody has earned him widespread acclaim.
With nostalgia-driven remakes becoming increasingly popular in Ghana’s music industry, “Rakia Remix” is expected to celebrate the legacy of the original while introducing the timeless record to a new generation of listeners.
