The much‑anticipated Highlife to the World (H2TW) – The Black Star Experience 2027 campaign, aimed at projecting Ghana’s iconic sound onto the global stage, was officially launched at the Seasea Club in Barcelona, Spain, on August 2, 2026.
Led by Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Mrs. Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe, and the Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency, Gideon Aryeequaye, the launch drew leading music industry figures and dignitaries from across Europe and Ghana’s creative community.
The H2TW campaign will feature workshops, masterclasses and concerts in selected cities across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas as part of activities marking Ghana’s 70th Independence Anniversary.
“The Creative Arts Agency sees the campaign as a vital platform to place talented Ghanaian creatives on international stages, with the core goal of promoting and preserving Highlife for future generations,” said Mr. Aryeequaye.
The Barcelona launch night delivered electrifying performances from Jupitar, Bessa Simons, Obrafour, Stonebwoy and the Lucky Star Band, with opening sets by DJ Logs, DJ Demo, DJ King Solo and Nigerian guest DJ Enny.
Presidential Aide and Black Star Experience Coordinator, Rex Omar; Ghana’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO in Paris, Meredith Naakai Lamptey; and Ambassador Sinare Baffoe all pledged their support to ensure “2027 sees Highlife colours flying high as we gear up for Ghana @70.”
Ms. Lara Torres, Events Lead at Seasea Club, added: “We are excited to support a brand as influential as the one that birthed Afrobeat. We hope to host H2TW every year for our audience.”
H2TW is organised by Showbiz Africa, the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Black Star Experience, Benayacon and the Ghana Embassy in Madrid, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Creative Arts Agency, Ghana Tourism Authority and the National Folklore Board.
The full roadmap for H2TW 2027 will be unveiled later this year at a Highlife Festival to be hosted by Laboma Beach Resort in Accra.
