Media personality Teddy Don-Momoh is mourning the death of his wife, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, popularly known as Coach Lara, who passed away after a brief illness.

In a statement, the family announced that Coach Lara died peacefully and appealed for privacy as they grieve her loss.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh. After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully,” the statement said.

The family also requested prayers for her and those mourning her passing.

“During this deeply painful time, we humbly ask for privacy and prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, and for all who mourn this immeasurable loss,” the family added.

They said details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated later.

“Further details regarding the funeral arrangements and other family matters will be communicated in due course. We sincerely thank everyone for the love, support, prayers, and understanding extended to the family during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.

Coach Lara, a family therapist, reportedly died on Sunday, August 2, just two weeks after she and Don-Momoh welcomed their first child together, a baby girl.

The couple got married in April 2023, nearly a decade after Don-Momoh lost his first wife, Nigerian gospel singer Kefee Obareki Momoh. Kefee, best known for her hit song Branama, died in June 2014 after suffering lung failure following a 15-day coma.
