Overnight rains trigger flooding in Sandema, disrupt traffic

An overnight downpour has triggered flooding in parts of Sandema in the Builsa North Municipality of the Upper East Region, disrupting movement and affecting several residents.

The heavy rainfall caused drains to overflow, leaving portions of the Chuchuliga–Sandema road inundated and making travel difficult for motorists and commuters using the route.

The flooding also affected some homes and properties, with residents assessing the extent of the damage.

Authorities are expected to conduct an assessment to determine the full impact of the flooding and outline any necessary response measures.

Motorists and other road users have been urged to exercise caution when travelling through the affected areas, as additional rainfall could further deteriorate road conditions and increase the risk of flooding.
