“I’m grateful to God he has been granted bail” – Webkid’s father reacts to court ruling

The father of Webkid, the social media personality and ardent supporter of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, has expressed gratitude to God following the decision by the Accra High Court to grant his son bail in the ongoing case involving alleged false publication against dancehall star Stonebwoy.

Speaking after the court ruling, the visibly relieved father thanked God for what he described as a positive development in the legal battle that has attracted widespread attention from entertainment fans across the country.

“I’m grateful to God that he has been granted bail,” he said. “I’m praying that God gives Stonebwoy strength and does not let his enemies get him.”

His remarks have since sparked discussions on social media, with many interpreting the statement as a gesture of goodwill toward Stonebwoy despite the legal dispute involving his son.

The Accra High Court granted Webkid bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with conditions, allowing him temporary freedom while the case continues. The court's decision was welcomed by supporters who had gathered at the premises, some carrying placards and calling for his release.

The case stems from allegations that Webkid published false information concerning Stonebwoy and members of his family. Prosecutors contend that the publications were defamatory and capable of causing harm, while the defence has maintained that the accused should be allowed to defend himself while enjoying his constitutional right to bail.

The matter has generated significant interest within Ghana's entertainment industry, particularly due to the long-standing rivalry between the camps of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. Several supporters of both artistes have closely followed developments since the case was first brought before the courts.

As legal proceedings continue, Webkid's father says he remains hopeful that justice will prevail and that all parties involved will find peace throughout the process.
