Charterhouse Productions has announced a change of venue for the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), shifting the event to the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
The awards ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, was initially set to be held at the Palms Convention Centre.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 5, the organisers noted that the change is aimed at enhancing production quality and accommodating the growing scale of the event.
“While the event was initially scheduled to be hosted at the Palms Convention Centre, we are pleased to announce that this year's ceremony will now take place at the Grand Arena, within the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday 9th May, 2026 from 7pm,” the statement read in part.
Charterhouse explained that the decision reflects the increasing ambition and technical demands of the awards scheme over the years.
It noted that the Grand Arena, which has hosted the event since 2019, offers the infrastructure needed for high-quality staging, broadcast and audience engagement.
“The move to the Grand Arena reflects the evolving scale and production ambition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards. With its expansive capacity, advanced technical infrastructure, and enhanced production flexibility, the Grand Arena offers the ideal environment to deliver the world-class experience that audiences have come to expect,” the organisers stated.
The company also expressed appreciation to key stakeholders, including headline sponsor Telecel Ghana, as well as government institutions for their support in hosting this year’s edition.
The 27th TGMA is expected to bring together leading figures in Ghana’s music industry for a night of performances and awards celebrating excellence in the sector.
Competing for the coveted Artiste of the Year award are Black Sherif, Wendy Shay, Medikal, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Diana Hamilton.
