Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has responded calmly and respectfully to comments made by highlife legend Gyedu-Blay Ambolley regarding his “Dancehall King” status.
Ambolley had earlier sparked debate after questioning how any artiste could claim kingship in a genre they did not create, bluntly stating that Shatta Wale was “joking.”
The comment quickly gained attention across social media and entertainment platforms.
However, in a surprising turn, Shatta Wale chose a peaceful and respectful approach in his response, urging fans not to attack the veteran musician.
“Please nobody should attack him, no disrespect please. I loved this man from infancy and I can’t and will never disrespect his views,” he wrote.
The “On God” hitmaker acknowledged Ambolley’s legendary status and made it clear that he holds no grudges over the statement.
“Maybe we have to learn more the hard way. Thank you my legend, ano bore at all… It’s all love,” he added, ending his message with his signature #SM4LYF slogan.
