Entertainment pundit Sallymann has stated that dancehall artiste Shatta Wale is the only Ghanaian musician who has openly shown consistent disrespect toward rapper Sarkodie.
Speaking during a discussion on entertainment matters, Sallymann explained that criticisms often directed at Sarkodie by industry players and pundits should not be misunderstood as hatred. According to her, many of the comments made about the award-winning rapper are intended to push him to reach even greater heights in his career.
She emphasized that Sarkodie remains one of the most talented and influential musicians in Ghana, which is why many people expect more from him.
“Nobody is against Sarkodie. The things people say about him are to make him do better because we believe in his craft and we know he can do better,” she said.
Sallymann further argued that Sarkodie should not be limited to local comparisons but rather be measured against some of Africa’s biggest music stars. In her view, the rapper’s achievements and talent place him in the same conversation as international acts such as Wizkid and other top performers on the continent.
She stressed that positioning Sarkodie among Africa’s elite artistes would help raise the standard of expectations for the Ghanaian music industry.
However, the pundit pointed out that while constructive criticism exists within the industry, Shatta Wale stands out as the one artiste who has publicly shown the most disrespect toward Sarkodie over the years.
According to her, several exchanges between the two artistes have demonstrated that the dancehall star has repeatedly made comments perceived as disrespectful toward the rapper.
Sallymann concluded by reiterating that constructive conversations about Sarkodie’s career should not be interpreted as attacks but rather as encouragement from people who believe strongly in his abilities and want to see him achieve even greater global success.
