The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to the public to help trace the relatives of a Ghanaian national, Mr Solomon Apia, who died in Nigeria on July 5, 2021.
In a public announcement issued on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the Ministry said Mr Apia had lived and worked in Nigeria for more than 15 years, where he was employed as a cleaner by a construction company, Stabilini Visinoni Ltd.
According to the Ministry, information available indicates that Mr Apia was born in Accra on March 6, 1960, was married and stood approximately five feet three inches tall.
“The Ministry would be grateful if any person who has information about Mr Apia’s relatives or can assist in tracing his next of kin could contact the Information and Public Affairs Bureau (IPAB) of the Ministry,” the announcement stated in part.
The Ministry further disclosed that information retrieved from the deceased’s phone suggested he may have had relatives or acquaintances named Steven Yeboah, Wisdom Nanor, Nana and Eva.
It provided contact numbers associated with some of the names to assist in tracing people who may know the deceased or his family.
The Ministry has urged anyone with relevant information to contact its Information and Public Affairs Bureau on 0240 792 586 or via email at [email protected].
“The Ministry appreciates the public’s cooperation and assistance in this matter,” the announcement added.
The appeal is intended to help the Ministry trace Mr Apia’s next of kin and facilitate the necessary assistance following his death in Nigeria.
