A lady has shared a funny video advising women to prepare early for Valentine’s Day by planting their own flowers.
In the video , the woman encouraged women not to rely on men for gifts on the special day. “Come o! If you know you want flowers on Valentine’s Day, go and plant it now because with the way some of these men are moving, they want us to chase them,” she said.
She added that some women might end up buying flowers for themselves if they wait.
“That means we’ll end up buying the flowers ourselves. So plant your flowers now, let them ripen by then, and pluck them to give yourself. Nobody would know. You should not carry last,” she stated.
Her video comes as discussions around Valentine’s Day expectations continue to trend online, with many people sharing their personal views about love, gifts, and self-appreciation.
The message comes amid a broader online conversation about Valentine’s Day gifts and expectations.
Last year, rapper Opanka questioned the value of giving flowers as a gift, asking about their practical use and whether they fit local cultural values.
“What will they even use flowers for? Will they plant it, grow it, or use it for decoration?” he asked in an interview on Accra FM.
Similarly, Media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, once posted that she ordered flowers for herself with a note reading “From Deloris to Deloris,” encouraging singles to celebrate themselves on the day of love.
